India beats Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the CB series in Australia to keep their chances alive for the finals.

Hobart.  India riding on the heroics of Virat Kohli beat Sri Lanka to stay in contention for the finals of the one-day international tri-series in Australia.

In a high scoring game, Sri Lanka made 320 for the loss of only four wickets.  Tillakaratne Dilshan who scored 160, shared a 200 runs partnership with Kumar Sangakkara (105), after Dhoni chose to field first on winning the toss.

India responed in style with Kohli making an unbeaten 133 of just 86 balls. He struck 16 fours and 2 sixes in his match winning innings. Lasith Malinga surprisingly went for 96 runs in his 7.4 overs. Kohli particularly punished him, hitting 24 runs in one over.

Desperate to finish the game within 40 overs to stay in reckoning, the Indians did it in 36.4 overs with the loss of only three wickets.

The late win still requires Australia to beat Sri Lanka on Friday for any chance of India going ahead.
