Viswanathan Anand brings in more glory to India

Vishwanathan Anand adds one more title to his illustrious career by winning the World Chess Championship 2012.


Moscow. Cricket obsessed India has not given due credit to the phenomenal achievements of Vishwanathan Anand. He ought to be celebrated as the greatest sportsman India has ever produced along with Sachin Tendulkar.

Anand proved it again by beating Boris Gelfand of Israel at the World Chess Championship, 2012, held in Russia. In a hard fought match, the two players tied at six games each before it went to the rapid round. Anand came out the winner by winning the second rapid game, the other three were tied.

Anand has held this title since 2007.
