This App spreads cancer awareness.

Microsoft launches the ‘YouWeCan’ App on Windows Phone to educate people about cancer.


New Delhi. To support cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s cancer awareness initiative ‘YouWeCan Fight Cancer’, Microsoft has launched the ‘YouWeCan’ app initially exclusively for the Windows Phone. The App is priced at Rs. 565, exactly what one cancer detection costs. Buying the app may help the user save a life.

YouWeCan App puts the spotlight on Yuvraj with exclusive pictures and content, through his inspiring journey from his childhood to man of the tournament of the 2011 World Cup to brave cancer survivor. It also includes key facts about different types of cancer and benefits of early detection.  

A large portion of the payment towards the paid version would go to the Yuvraj Singh Foundation for their anti-cancer drive. Users can also donate money or volunteer time with the Yuvraj Singh Foundation or use the App to buy YouWeCan T-shirts, caps and ribbons. Additionally, users of the paid version can also enter the weekly YouWeCan contest with questions around Yuvraj Singh, cricket and cancer.

Commenting on the launch of the App, Vineet Durani, Director - Windows Phone Business Group, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. said, “This is the first time that Microsoft has launched an App of this nature in support of fighting cancer, and we are very happy to be able to support an initiative like ‘YouWeCan Fight Cancer’ with the Yuvraj Singh Foundation.”
