Subway sanwich auction winner Angad SalujaA Subway sandwich fetches Rs 51,000 in a first of its kind auction

New Delhi. In order to mark the opening of new outlet in Delhi, a SUBWAY sandwich, recently auctioned for the first time in India, generated a sum of Rs 51,000 for the cause of providing a better future to underprivileged children.

The bid for the most valuable sandwich commenced from Rs 1,000 and witnessed a close competition between two bidders by the end. The deal was sealed by a winning bid of Rs 51,000 from Angad Singh Saluja, a businessman and writer.

Manush Sethi, owner of the new SUBWAY franchise in Hari Nagar, donated the entire amount raised from the auction to the Child Rights and You (CRY) foundation. “CRY has been instrumental in crusading for Child Rights to free and quality education along with making a healthier life accessible to children. I am thankful to Mr Sethi for making us a part of this event and thinking of the larger good,” said Ms Alakananda Ghosh, Senior Manager, CRY foundation.
