FICCI announces winners of its first R&D awards

New Delhi. FICCI recently announced the Winners of its first R&D Awards. The FICCI R&D Awards is an effort towards recognising the best of Indian innovative spirit to bring state-of-the-art product and services to the market through indigenous research and development activity. The Awards ceremony shall be held as a part of FICCI’s Global R&D Summit on November 12, 2104 at New Delhi.

The call for applications under FICCI R&D Awards was made for 2 categories, the Catapult Awards (for Indian entities with less than 3 years in business and/or less than INR 3 Crores in average annual turnover) and the R&D Awards (for other Indian entities). A total of 97 applications were received across both categories, and after initial short-listing, 32 applications were presented to a distinguished jury for picking the Winners.

The Winners of the first edition of the FICCI R&D Awards are:

-Project Akash Group- DRDL, DRDO for “Development and production of indigenous surface to air missile system – Akash”
-Perfint Healthcare Pvt Ltd. for “MAXIO - Integrated Visualization, Treatment Planning and Robotic Navigation for CT Guided Tumour Ablation”

The winners shall be honoured with a trophy and a cash award of INR 500,000 each. The winners shall be felicitated during the Inaugural Session of the Global R&D Summit.

The FICCI R&D Awards is slated to be an annual event coinciding with FICCI’s Global R&D Summit.
